muscle milk, HGH, protein, power bars... and YagerBombs

I'm chillin here drinking my protein shake waiting for mom to get here.

Anyways.... so yesterday mom did a lot of stuff on the computer and I played with my blog. Unfortunately I still hate it : (

Last night Christina had to lay down for two hours because her blood pressure was too high. Kyle and I went to Walgreens to get her prescription and the sour cream for dinner.

After that I worked for about an hour and Kyle made us Mustard Chicken for dinner. It was really good and I'm going to make mom try it for lunch today. After dinner we watched Freaks and Geeks to share the awkward hilarity with Kyle. Here's a little clip: He Died!

We all remembered that furniture was supposed to be delivered between 5-7. Then the guy called like after 8, close to 9, and said that he was really tired and he'd been driving a big rig all day. So he pulls up in a little truck with a trailer, hardly a rig, not nearly a big rig. He's so tired, he's quitting.. blah, blah, blah.. bring me my damn furniture, it's 10pm!!!

I think all this was a lot funnier in person, maybe you just had to be here.

Day Two

So we ventured to the local H.E.B in the morning. We loaded up on chicken, lettuce, strawberries, and ice cream.

I decided to get all healthy while I'm here. I've been running in the morning and having a protein shake with All Bran for breakfast. I also tried the six small meals plan yesterday, except dinner threw me all off.

Tina, Kyle, and I went to Nuevo Leon for dinner. I forgot to buy the sour cream to make the mustard chicken and Tina didn't feel like cooking anyways. So we ate delicious Mexican food instead. I had a Mexican Martini. It was delish, but I was sooo sleepy afterwards.

Tina and Kyle had work to do so I curled up on the couch with my new obsession The Other Boelyn Girl. But I had the one drink curse and started to fall asleep. I just went to bed at like 9:30.

Then I got up and ran 1.5 miles on the treadmill for 20 minutes and did some pilates. It was sort of fun, I guess.

Now Mom is here, we're picking up where we left off yesterday. Going to fill out some more applications. She's on the phone with Unemployment Insurance as I blog. We canceled some monthly fee coupon deals and saved her more than $30/month, so that's a good thing. Anyways I think we might go to Target or something this afternoon as our pre-Zoo College relaxation time.

Day 1 With Mom

So yesterday, Mom and I got a lot accomplished. It was a long day and we were both ready to wrap up at 5 when she had to leave for "Zoo College."

First, I showed her the formatting and wording changes I made to her resume and cover letters. I also turned them into PDFs for her (I need to remember to show her how to do that herself...).

After that, we applied to all the interesting jobs from the newspaper. These were mostly teaching positions. So that got about 4 resumes out. Then we did one application online, making the grand total 5 resumes for the day!

We also added her applicable "keywords" to her profile on the non-profit website profile. These were things like "education," "non-profit," etc. Apparently her counselor at Work for Texas at this mornings meeting changed them for her to make her stand out.

Then we went through some bills, called some companies to understand what was going on with them, and got them paid. It was a good thing we called because we got some fees removed, and avoided late fees with others. We have more to go through today.

Mom wasn't sure if she had gotten her tax return, so we logged into her checking account where we found that she had received her Federal Income Tax Return and her economic stimulus money. The only thing we need to determine the status of is her NJ State Refund.

So far today, mom went to that meeting and met with the counselor. Then we went to the grocery store and made lunch. Since then Mom's been working on transferring all the information we have on her resume to the online applicant system at the office of Health and Human Services.

We have a couple other items on our check list for today. I'll update everyone tomorrow!

Boobies In Airports and on Planes

I made it to Tejas... after over 12 hours in an airport/on a plane.

Its crazy that it take that long to get to a place that is only 4 hours away.

Anyways the trip was uneventful for the most part, besides the delays. There was an Amazonian woman in Philly who was at least 6 feet tall chasing around a 3 year old with her boobies hanging out of this sundress she was wearing. I was like eww put a bra on.

The next most eventful part of the trip also involved boobies. So I see these big fake stripper-like boobies hanging out of what was mean to be a cute sundress that she somehow managed to make skanky with the boobies hanging out.

So I see this pair of boobies embracing a guy in a goodbye for a while sort of way. So lucky me, this girl sits directly behind me on the plane. Then, her seat mate came and he was this drunk guy. They started flirting immediately, of course, who wouldn't flirt with boobies girl?

Anyways I come to find out (not even through eavesdropping, they were talking so loud that it was impossible to ignore) that they are both engaged. The guy works in Iraq as a contractor and the girl is a stripper (which explains the stripper boobies). The boobie girl was engaged to this guy who left for Iraq. Anyways they continue to flirt and she decides she wants to get drunk too. So she has 3 Jack Daniels. Then the guy gets up to go to the bathroom and the girl starts freaking out that her camera and $280 are missing and the guy stole them. He emerges from the bathroom totally confused as she accuses him of stealing the stuff.

The stewardess instructs the girl to dump out her purse on the empty seat next to me. Out spills a bunch of receipts, some beef jerky, many loose bills, 3 empty plane-sized JD bottles, other random crap and her camera. I was like ok this crazy bitch is full of shit. Anyways so these two lovebirds decide to part ways and the stewardess seats the guy somewhere else on the plane.

The stripper keeps talking to everyone else around her about how "it'll get 'taken care of' " and that he "messed with the wrong person."

Whatever. So I signaled to Kyle and Tina to look for her by doing my best stripper impersonation as I came down the escalator.

Anyways pretty entertaining. More about this crazy trip to Austin to come!

Fiasco in Philly

So I decided to jump on the blogging band wagon. I think its a pretty good idea, we can all stay up to date on each other without actually talking every day.

Well this weekend was Brent's birthday. We went to Philly to go out with his friends from high school and some of our friends from college. I set my expectations pretty low in preparation for this event so I wouldn't end up angry/disappointed.

It actually started out fun in his friend Rachel's studio in center city...

Then, first stop, Bump (a cute little urban style bar) where we mimicked Brent's praying-like dance moves...

Lastly, we went to Continental, or the bar with the swinging chairs. We never sit in these chairs, of course, because they're at the dining tables.

After this the night pretty much fell apart... Brent had some sketchy guy, Bruce lead us to our next destination for a fee of $5. I was pretty sure we were going to get stabbed.

Luckily there was no stabbing. We lost the Philly residents of our party and were basically stranded in Center City Philadelphia... awesome. Our F&M friends had to leave, so here I was alone with the drunk kid. We went into some random bar for cover and waited until closing time because none of the Philly peeps were answering their phones. I was so pissed!

When the skanky Philly girl finally picked up her phone I instructed her to come back to her apartment to let us in because we were leaving and needed to get our stuff. When she got back I gave her an earful all the way into the building, up the elevator, down the hall to her apartment, collecting our stuff, back to the elevator, back down 3 floors, and out the lobby. She didn't say one word.

How can you be so rude and ditch your friend on their birthday?

I'm over it.

Today at work we took an extended lunch to visit Sally at the hospital. She just had her second baby Sophia. Her other little girl Alexis was there too, she is two and I couldn't help but thinking that's probably what I was like when Katsy was born.

The baby so so cute and little, I bet that's what Mallory will be like when she gets here.
