Well this weekend was Brent's birthday. We went to Philly to go out with his friends from high school and some of our friends from college. I set my expectations pretty low in preparation for this event so I wouldn't end up angry/disappointed.
It actually started out fun in his friend Rachel's studio in center city...
Then, first stop, Bump (a cute little urban style bar) where we mimicked Brent's praying-like dance moves...
After this the night pretty much fell apart... Brent had some sketchy guy, Bruce lead us to our next destination for a fee of $5. I was pretty sure we were going to get stabbed.
Luckily there was no stabbing. We lost the Philly residents of our party and were basically stranded in Center City Philadelphia... awesome. Our F&M friends had to leave, so here I was alone with the drunk kid. We went into some random bar for cover and waited until closing time because none of the Philly peeps were answering their phones. I was so pissed!
When the skanky Philly girl finally picked up her phone I instructed her to come back to her apartment to let us in because we were leaving and needed to get our stuff. When she got back I gave her an earful all the way into the building, up the elevator, down the hall to her apartment, collecting our stuff, back to the elevator, back down 3 floors, and out the lobby. She didn't say one word.
How can you be so rude and ditch your friend on their birthday?
I'm over it.
Today at work we took an extended lunch to visit Sally at the hospital. She just had her second baby Sophia. Her other little girl Alexis was there too, she is two and I couldn't help but thinking that's probably what I was like when Katsy was born.
The baby so so cute and little, I bet that's what Mallory will be like when she gets here.
