Birthday & Famous Peeps

Sooo I went up to Hoboken with Brent on Friday night in the Camry. I dropped it off at Kris' dad's shop and it actually was sold 2 days later for $2,500.

We hung out for my birthday on Friday and Saturday night. I was really mad at Brent on Friday night because he got belligerent after drinking 1/2 a bottle of Jose Cuervo. And that isn't the first time he's done that. Saturday night was a lot better and we actually had fun. Pics below.

Why does it always look like my head isn't really attached to my body?
Someone at the bar gave me bunny ears!!
Much better behaved tonight :)

Sunday night we all went into NYC and dropped Brent off at Penn Station. Kris and I continued on to the Westin Times Square to drop off my stuff, then we explored Times Square a bit.

Monday was the first day of the conference. It was pretty good. On Tuesday, I met Kelly and we went to a taping of Celebrity Apprentice. Here's all the famous peeps I met:

Celebrity Apprentice cupcake selling truck
Tom Green & me
Kelly & Bryan McKnight (and the $20 cupcake)
Me and Jesse James (aka Sandra Bullock's husband)
Me and Dennis Rodman
Me, Kelly, and the Naked Cowboy

Well, that's about it. I hope Tina is happy the "brown, fuzzy thing" is gone. Thanks for the Uggs and DVD!!

Last Wednesday, I met up with Beth in Silver Spring on my way to Herndon for Omniture training. It was nice... we had some banana-y chips with guac and I had a steak with chimichurri and Beth had some salmon. It was really hot in there but it was good.

A bunch of funny stuff happened... but I can't remember : (

When I got to my hotel in Herndon, all they had left was a two bedroom suite. It was bigger than my condo. I felt bad because I was wasting all the space for just me, but it was pretty bad ass.

The next day I got up at 6 cause I thought I had to be at training by 8. When I got there I checked the papers and class started at 9.. dammit! So I went back to the hotel for an hour.

There were these two weirdos in the class who brought this:
Apparently this is a "Domo" some character from a Japanese tv show. I can't really explain this. The one guy had a really weird voice and I couldn't help but think that it wasn't his real voice and he was just wanted to sound like a Simpsons character.

I spent some quality time with my new boss. He's pretty cool and I think I'll learn a lot working with him.

So this weekend Armstrong and other businesses in Lancaster participated in the United Way's Day of Caring. Maybe you can explain why I decided to sign up after hearing the description. Basically you donate your time to local charities and organizations. Our team was assigned to weed/clean up a children's garden.

It was raining Saturday morning and we met for breakfast at 7am. I opted for the inside work of cleaning windows while the other 30 people from our team worked outside in the rain. I couldn't even believe it! Everyone was completely soaked, muddy, sweaty... and I couldn't even make it inside. I faked a stomach ache around 10 just to get to leave. Bleah I'm not doing it next year, that's for sure. I really earned my "princess" nickname. Don't look for me in the pic below, I'm not in it... but there's an idea of the hell on earth that occurred.

Kris came this weekend. We talked on his birthday and decided to hang out again. He even volunteered with my on Saturday morning by digging poles out of 3 feet of concrete.

We hung out with Brent on Saturday night and went shopping and watched football. It was pretty nice.

Hello loyal readers,

My life is sooo interesting.... I was actually going to go to walmart after work today (i know.. CRAZY, right?) but I realized I left my coupons at home (the horror!!) and once I got home I didn't feel like going back out again.

I cleaned my house REALLY good this weekend so I actually LIKE being here, haha. I've been cleaning up after myself more to keep it clean. I've even been making my bed before I leave for work. I actually remember thinking, "Wow, people really do this every day!"

One crazy thing that happened to me last week was: I was getting home from Gap one night around 10pm and this lady was waiting for me in the doorway of my building. She asked me if I drove a green Jetta with at "screwed up antenna." She has thick Greek accent and probably just doesn't know that the English translation is "fucked up antenna" but I let it slide. She starts diggin in her "Mary Poppins" bag (I'll get to that story in a second, Beth feels me) and pulls out a new antenna!!! She then told me that she works at a carwash and someone had left it behind. I thought it was so nice of her to go to think of me when she saw it and to bring it home and give it to me, especially since I rarely see her and we had never even spoken before! So nice.

Soo... while Beth and I were shopping in Beth's fave town, Cockeysville, I was trying on a top and I wanted to see what it would look like with a cardigan, which I happened to have stashed in my purse, of course. Beth goes "Did you just pull that sweater out of your Marry Poppins bag, because if anyone were to have a sweater in their purse it would be you." I mean... what if I got cold??

So I'm interviewing a Jesus Freak tomorrow. My interview candidate for the eMarketing Intern position we have open graduated in May from Messiah college and my friend at work who recommended him Dave aka "You and I both know I'd be happier if you were a Christian" Dave. So... we'll see. I painted my nails red... so I remind him of the devil. I think its going to go well.

Well, its 10:20... WAY passed my bed time. Plus, I still need some Quality time with Helen of Troy since I <3 historical fiction. Nitey nite!!

Today Beth and I hung out in Cockeysville, MD. Beth thought the name was the funniest freaking thing. Its 1 hour from each of us, so its a good meeting point. The place is one of those new "town center" shopping concepts where the stores all have entrances outside so its not all enclosed like a mall.

We went to California Pizza Kitchen for lunch and instated the new cocktail at lunch law. We sat next to the most annoying people that couldn't decide if they wanted to sit inside or outside and the mother thought that pizza, chicken nuggets, and french fries constitute a healthy breakfast.

Let's see... then we went to New York and Company and got a bunch of stuff. On our way there Beth was speaking in Chinese. She really just said something in a weird was that sounded sort of Chinese-y. So I started speaking to her in Chinese, so she would understand me. It was quite amusing.

We went to a bunch of other stores and got gelato. Beth eats really slow. I devoured mine and got dribbles on the table before Beth even made a dent in hers. Oh yeah and Beth is slower than the average consumer. She was lost on the whole idea of the sale stickers at DSW coming in different colors so you know what % off the shoes were. That was funny too.

I can't remember all the funny stuff that happened cause there was a lot.

So this week involved me doing very little actual work at work. I brought brownies on Tuesday, snuck out for donuts with Sandy (our admin/secretary) and Shauna (the intern). I provided the transportation, and the coupon of course, but I wasn't having a donut. I got peer pressured into a delicious boston cream, though. Then on Thursday, we surprised our department with the most amazing ice cream social ever. We spent over fifty emarketing dollars on all the supplies. Everyone was happy though and we actually hung out for non-work related purposes for about 20 minutes. We've been having a lot of team work issues lately and naturally I've been involved in coming up with fun was to combat them. We've also had the idea to tie die shirts or go bowling. Everyone in our department (almost) is a huge weenie and never wants to do anything fun so its like pulling teeth to get everyone to hang out.

Shauna and I also decided on Monday we were going to go out and do something fun every night of the week. This lasted through Monday. We went out to a local restaurant's bar with Sandy had clams and wings and went home by 10. Tuesday Shauna didn't feel like going out, and I was fine with that. Then on Wednesday I really felt like doing something but, again, Shauna didn't feel like it. I called up this other girl I randomly met one day. We went out and eventually met up with some other people and it turned out to be an OK time. While I was out with her Shauna called me, "Julie, don't get your hopes up... but I think I might have tickets to Billy Joel tomorrow."

By 12pm on Thursday we knew we were seeing Billy. Of course, I had work at the Gap that night. When I lie to them I like to get a little creative. I think I feel less bad if I mix the lie with a bit of truth. So, I was all stressed out about what to tell them. Sandy said, "just say that you need to stay late at your real job today and you can't make it." I liked that excuse rather than the typical, "I don't feel good." So the excuse I came up with was that my boss was supposed to host some customers for dinner tonight, but she found out her mom is in the hospital, so I have to fill in. The truth was that my boss's mom was actually in the hospital.. but we didn't have any customers in town hehe. It worked like a charm and I was free to see the piano man.

I met up with Shauna with all the necessary supplies, 4 coronas and a nalgene full of my favorite pre-party concoction: blue raspberry "energy" drink and vanilla vodka. So we had a little tailgate party in the parking lot... basically alone. Why was everyone there so old?? Shauna is crazy and always gets me to do things I wouldn't normally do... like pee not in a toilet. Thursday marked the first time this has taken place since the last time I peed my pants. Photos of our impressive streams below.

So we saw/heard another little party going on a few cars away and we could tell they were about our age. They were extremely white trash so we passed them by on our way into the show. This was the first time we looked at what row our seats were after they told us they were in row one hundred thirty something. We found out we were row 23!!

I couldn't take my camera in but I was thankful that I was forced to listen to his music as a child so that I could sing along or at least recognize some of the songs. We just danced like crazy and decided we were having more fun than anyone else there.

drunkin' honuts

Hey everybody! I'm doing a post! Just got back from Beth's a little while ago. We had a fun weekend. On Friday we spent some time out by the pool then cooked lots of food. Beth gave us massages and then we did a bit of shopping and got lots of deals on Saturday thanks to my coupons! We were lazy on Sunday and we only had time to chow down at Friendly's before Kate had to get on her bus.

I picked out some cute pics to share!
